Twihard teen bites 11 female students

Boston isn’t the only one with a vampire problem. Des Moines Register reports that a 13-year-old boy at the De Moines school has allegedly bitten 11 female students from February 10 to March 13, and his father blames it on Twilight. The boy bit one of the girls at a track meet, and when the vice principal investigated the incident, she found out that others in the school had been bitten by the young teen vampire wannabe. The police were involved, and the boy was given a delayed referral to juvenile court on an assault charge.

Vampire scare at Boston Latin leaves everyone confused

Did you guys hear about this one? According to The Boston Globe, Boston Latin School, a 400-year-old public school, is getting a lot of media attention lately due to rumors that vampires and werewolves walk amongst its alumni.

It seems the whole thing started when a couple of Twilight obsessed fangirls accused a fellow student of cutting someone’s neck and sucking her blood. Sadly, the crazy rumors don’t end there. Another student told the Boston Globe that a male student rumored to be a werewolf, wrote on Facebook that he would bring a gun to school because he was being harassed.

Apparently, the kids in Boston Latin  have lost it and are doing crazy things like carrying umbrellas to avoid exposure to the sun, and claiming to be “half-vampires” that drain their own blood to make their skin pale.  The police department and school faculty had to eventually step in to end the nonsense.  The school even emailed parents to reassure them that their kids were safe, and the school free of  vampires, but not mean kids:

“It has come to my attention that rumors involving ‘vampires’ began spreading through the building yesterday. I am very concerned that the safety of certain students may be jeopardized as targets of rumors and speculation. Please alert any adult in the building if you feel that any student is being harassed or targeted.”

Silly kids! But seriously, isn’t this how the whole Salem witch trials got started? Good thing a lot has changed since then.

Twilight Actors: Where they showed up last night

Just Jared has a great post of where the actors showed up last night. Nicki Reed surprised fans in at Hot Topic in Chicago,  Rachelle Lafevre was at the Walmart in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ashley Green was at Hot Topic in Los Angeles, Edi Gathegi showed up at Borders in New York City, Peter Facinelli in Washinton, and Cahterine Hardwicke was at Borders in Dallas, TX.

Solomon Trimble (Sam Uley) will be at Walmart in Oregon

Ok, so maybe he’s not your favorite wolf-man/ shape-shifter in the Twilight Saga, but if you live in Oregon and plan to attend the DVD release party make sure you pack a digicam so you can take snapshots Solomon Trimble and a few other Twilight cast and crew members.  The Casting Scoop, says Jeff Feller (who shot the behind-the-scenes videos), Propmaker Bill Berkhert Jr, Oregon Casting Director Lana Veenker, Frat Boys Alex Mendeluk and Sean McGrath from the Port Angeles scene, Ayanna Berkshire (Cora at the Culver Café), Catherine Grimme  (Young Bella in the ballet school scene), Trish Egan( the High School Administrator), and fan favorite Solomon Trimble of the Quileute tribe will be at the Wood Village Walmart this Friday.  Fans will have to stand in line starting at 8pm and bring ONE item to be signed.  Check out the blog for more details.

Twi-Stars celebrate DVD release in these five cities

Seth, webmaster extraordinaire, announced on Meyer’s website that Summit has released the names of the cities where actors/filmmakers will make special appearances at Twilight DVD parties. These will include Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas and Salt Lake City. My guess (and this is just a guess), is that Meyer will be in Salt Lake City, Hardwicke will be in Dallas, Edi Gathegi in LA, and maybe, just maybe Pattinson in NY. We’ll have to wait and see who actually shows up where. Kellan may not be at any of them because he’s slipping into a Snuggie and throwing his own pajama party at home in a onsie, but who knows. He may surprise some fans out there.

Blood drives for Twilight: I vant to suck your blood

I’m all for donating blood, but I think it’s borderline creepy to have  blood drives and onsite blood mobiles  outside aDVD release party. Dont you? Wal-Mart, Hastings, and Blockbuster will all be rolling out these blood drive mobiles at select outlets. Wal-Mart will even reward blood donors with Twilight-themed gifts while supplies last, according to a press release. Yay! You get to free swag for your blood. Me thinks that’s a little too goth, but that’s my opinion. What do you think?

In other news, Wal-mart says Twilight is the most pre-ordered DVD in its history. More than 2,400 of Wal-Mart’s 24-hour stores will host bashes for Twilight, which streets from Summit Home Entertainment on March 21. Wal-Mart is exclusively selling the film’s single-disc version.

The film’s cast has taped a fan greeting that will be broadcast exclusively through Wal-Mart’s in-store TV network during its midnight parties. This message, from unspecified film talent, was filmed on the set of Twilight’s sequel, New Moon.
